PDFSL Engages Kono District Stakeholders in Grassroots Development Tour

Kono District, Sierra Leone — The national technical team of the People’s Development Foundation Sierra Leone (PDF SL), led by Madam Tigidankay Timbo, Project Coordinator, Alusine Lulu Bangura, Research and Policy officer, and Mr Adams Jalloh visited Kono District as part of a familiarisation tour aimed at engaging local authorities in discussions on grassroots development initiatives.
During the visit, the team met with the Senior District Officer Mr. William B. Ngegbai – SDO, the Deputy Chairperson of Kono District Council Mrs. Rebecca Jimmy Yambasu, and the Chairman of the Council of Paramount Chiefs Kono District Chief Gbwa. The PDF SL team emphasized the foundation’s commitment to promoting people-driven development, independent of political affiliations or government influence.


The Senior District Officer commended the initiative and assured the team of his office’s readiness to work with the foundation in aligning community development projects with the district’s priorities. Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairperson welcomed the initiative as a valuable complement to ongoing development efforts and expressed the council’s commitment to supporting the foundation.
The Chairman of the Council of Paramount Chiefs extended a warm reception to the PDF SL team, affirming his support for the foundation’s mission to catalyze development from the grassroots level.


The familiarisation tour forms part of the foundation’s broader strategy to engage local stakeholders ahead of its upcoming meet with the Paramount Chiefs. Mr. Adams Jalloh, the Kono District Focal Person, hosted the team and facilitated engagements with key stakeholders to align PDF SL’s grassroots development strategy with local priorities. The tour also serves as a prelude to the official visit of PDF SL Founder, Alpha Osman Timbo Esq., to the district.
